Mapping rooftop solar potential and designing intelligent distributed energy grids.
Overview & Impact
To accelerate transition to clean energy, we designed a High-Resolution Solar Potential Mapping platform. Using LiDAR data and 3D building modeling, we calculated direct and diffuse solar radiation on every municipal rooftop, taking into account tilt, shade from trees or adjacent structures, and local weather patterns. This allows property owners to receive instant, customized feasibility assessments for solar installation.
